I first found my inspiration to learn to paint, in a painted mural, while touring Napa Valley with my husband many years ago.

Over the years I have dabbled in the occasional paint-along classes rarely attempting to paint anything on my own. A few years ago I began taking art lessons from a local artist. It ignited my interest and growth in oil painting.

Now I find oil painting both relaxing and challenging depending on the piece. It is therapeutic and an escape from the daily chaos. I feel blessed to be an oil painting hobbyists.

A diverse interest in subjects appeals to me. Landscapes, seascapes, animals, still life as well as portraits. Perhaps someday I will even attempt to paint a piece based upon that first mural!
